This magazine advert for Gorillaz which features N.E.R.D is very informative and the contrast of red on black stands out to the reader which automatically catches their attention. 

The bold but yet simple text stands out which grabs the attention of the reader, as it gives a clear indication of the band. The colour red also stands out on the black background, red also signifies power and danger so it makes the text stand out. The tour dates and information regarding it are also clearly located it big, bold black lettering. The fonts used are very simple as this is easier for the reader to view and the clear caption at the bottom of the advert promoting a prize of tickets, this stands out as the text is bright red which is alerting the reader. The information on where to buy the tickets is also clearly located with locations, websites and a telephone number. This shows not only is the advert promoting the band Gorillaz but it's also promoting the prize and purchasing option.

The design of the advert is fairly basic using plain backgrounds with bright fonts contrasting to make the text stand out. The yellow used to signify a electronic genre to music the band produces. The advert we may produce will be of a similar design to this as it is very basic but yet effective as the colours and background contrast well to highlight the text.
